It is an unusual year for celebrating Easter, lockdown obliges, so we will do what we can at home! But it takes very little to dream up a lovely table. Here are a few ideas for young and old alike, hunted down on Pinterest. Along with a napkin folding tutorial for the occasion :)
We begin with a great deal of poetry and these little egg characters! Perfect for a minimal decoration, all softness and poetry. Very easy: you will need hard-boiled eggs, a fine black felt-tip pen to draw on them and a few small flowers to make them tiny crowns.
For more colour, paint the eggs.
Turn your eggs into characters, give your imagination free rein and above all hand the children some paintbrushes. A fine idea for a creative activity while getting your table decoration ready.

Here we go with a short napkin folding tutorial for Easter, extremely simple, made with whatever came to hand AND certain to look wonderful on the table.
You will need:
- napkins
- hard-boiled eggs
- string or ribbon
- a fine black felt-tip pen
- a pair of scissors

For laying the table: plates and pretty bowls stacked together, a tablecloth in spring colours, a table runner of flowers and eggs down the middle. Simplicity and the art of springtime living.
Or in a more sophisticated version, with either white or darker tones dominating. If you are lucky enough to have a garden, take the table outside and hang a string of lights above it, in a tree. The first lunches in the garden are the best.
Around the table, you might imagine some hanging decoration, such as these reinvented "eggs" hung from a branch. To make them yourself, think paper!
