Fold no. 1: the 'cutlery holder'
A folding idea that turns every napkin into a 'cutlery holder' to slip the cutlery into, with the embroidery on show. To be set beside the plate, with each person's first name.

Lay the napkin flat (embroidery facing you), take the two bottom corners and bring them up to the top corners.

Take the two top corners of the napkin (the first layer) and fold them back down. The embroidery is now facing you.
Turn the napkin over!
Now that the face of the napkin is against the table, you can make the three-part fold that gives you this 'cutlery holder' shape. Follow the folding below:
Slip the cutlery into the fold of the napkin, with the embroidery clearly visible in the middle. Then set your little 'cutlery holders' beside every plate on your celebration table!

Fold no. 2: 'the bow tie on the plate'
An exceedingly simple fold, to be made with a lovely ribbon, some string or a cotton cord: whichever suits your decoration and your taste. For a country feel, choose a length of raffia onto which you can slip a small bunch of dried flowers or herbs (rosemary, thyme, and so on). For a Christmas table, choose a discreet gold thread with a little shine to it.

Fold the napkin in two flat, then turn it over and fold it again from the level of the embroidery up to the top edge
You form a kind of concertina folded in four with the napkin.
Turn the napkin over. The embroidery is facing you, easy to read
Take a ribbon, a cord or a length of raffia about 25 cm long. Wrap it around the napkin and tie a knot at the front.
And there you are, on the plate, an easy way to seat every guest.

Fold no. 3: 'the origami'
A more unusual fold, to be set on the plate.

Place the napkin face down, the embroidery against the table at the top. So the napkin is upside down in front of you. Take the bottom corner in your hands.
Fold the corner over onto the top corner to make a triangle
Fold each corner over twice, on each side
Then fold the point towards you; the embroidery should be facing you
