Celadon Heathered Bread Bag: personalised embroidery, made in France
Bread shut in plastic goes soft overnight; left in the open air, it hardens in a day. Linen holds both ends: it lets through enough air for the crust to stay crisp, and holds back enough moisture for the crumb not to dry out. The bag hangs on a cupboard handle: a bread bag put away in a drawer serves nobody.
The linen is woven from a celadon thread and an ecru one: hence that very pale sea green that moves with the light. The embroidery thread, ecru as well, stays within the same family of tones. You embroider the word for bread on it as readily as a first name. The same bag comes in ecru.
