The blue gingham is woven, not printed: the pattern comes from dyed threads crossed at the loom, it goes right through the cloth instead of sitting on it. It is the only one of our four triangle cases to carry a pattern, and that is what makes it findable at the bottom of a bag where everything is the same colour.
The dark red thread takes up neither of the two colours of the check: the first name stands out from the pattern instead of blending into it, which a blue or a white thread would not do. Washbag, felt-tip case or catch-all, the waterproof lining makes it indifferent to what goes in, the machine remaining out of the question. The three plain versions of the same model are in our pouches.
