The envelope is cut from the linen of our Flecked Blue napkins: the storage and the linen you put in it are then the same cloth and the same blue.
It is used above all for one thing: you slip a pile of napkins into it to go and dine with friends, and they arrive flat, with no crease to smooth out on the spot. The rest of the time it lives on a shelf or in a drawer, closed, and what it holds does not gather dust. And for giving, it replaces the wrapping paper: the wrapping then becomes part of the present.
