Celadon marries whatever it touches: raw wood, white, natural linen, greys. That is why we recommend it when the envelope is a present and you do not know the inside of the house that will receive it: it imposes neither a style nor a season.
The ecru thread stays within the pale tones of the linen: a first name, initials or the name of a house read on it without hard contrast, and from a distance only the cloth shows. It is the quietest of our envelopes, the one you leave in view on a shelf in the sitting room with the napkins stored inside.
