The fleck comes from the weave: a blue thread and an ecru thread crossed, so the colour is never flat and never shows the traces of a meal. The overlock is blue, the embroidery ecru. Napkins Flecked Blue: personalised embroidery, made in France
In a flecked cloth the coloured thread is crossed with an ecru one: the shade is speckled with light, it moves with the light of the room, and above all it absorbs to the eye what a plain would display (the mark of a glass, a storage crease, a drop of sauce between two courses).
Blue is the darkest of the three flecked colourways, and therefore the most forgiving. Where royal blue is a napkin for receptions, this one is made for the evening table: it goes back folded between two meals and comes out again at the next, without a wash every time. It sits well with White Blue, Flecked Celadon and Blue White.
