Green and red are a Christmas pairing when both are frank; here the stripe is soft and the thread dark, and the whole thing is worn all year. The stripe is woven, so washing never touches it. Napkins Green Stripes: personalised embroidery, made in France
Two stripes in the range, two opposite characters: grenadine is frank, almost bistro; this one is more muted, more vegetal, and it marries raw wood, stoneware and foliage. It holds a summer in the garden as well as the table at the end of the year.
The dark red of the embroidery imposes itself by elimination: on a green stripe a green thread would drown in the coloured bands and a pale thread would be lost in the white ones. Only this red is left, dark enough to cut through without turning the whole into Christmas decoration. Like all our stripes, this one is woven: the threads are dyed before they are crossed, where a printed stripe fades after a season. The tablecloth in the same stripe is in our tablecloths.
