The overlock is tone on tone, pricked with a dark green thread running round all four sides: it is that fine border, rather than the colour of the cloth, that makes the napkin. Napkins Ecru Green: personalised embroidery, made in France
Our three ecru napkins differ by one detail of sewing alone: the overlock is tone on tone, but pricked with a coloured thread (dark green here, honey or laurel elsewhere). The result is an almost neutral napkin with a single clean note round the edge.
Ecru is the off-white of a lightly bleached linen: it does not yellow, and it has none of the coldness of an optical white. Since the embroidery takes up the green of the stitching, the first name extends the border instead of adding to it, and it is that stance which appeals to wedding tables. It goes particularly well with our Peacock model.
