The matt pinkish red of the rhubarb stalk, frank but without glare, on a 45 by 35 cm linen finished with an overlock. It is the colour that warms a pale wooden table in winter. Embroidered with a first name, the mat becomes somebody's place. Made in France.

Placemats Burgundy: personalised embroidery, made in France
The thread is an off-white, not an optical white: on a pinkish red, a pure white would make a hard blot. Off-white keeps the first name legible from the place opposite, and leaves the colour of the linen in front.
This matt red goes with ecru, with off-white and with dark green: it puts colour on the table without imposing it on the china, which a bright red does not allow. The same colourway comes as a napkin and a tea towel, to compose the whole place setting and match the kitchen.
