Napkins White Blue: personalised embroidery, made in France
The thread is all that separates this napkin from its sister White Red: a first name embroidered in blue on white reads perfectly well from its own place setting, and disappears as soon as you look at the table as a whole. That is exactly what is asked of an everyday cover, when the marking has to serve without decorating.
White has a second advantage, less pretty but more useful: it takes a hotter wash than the dyed colourways, which counts for linen that goes through the machine every week. On the table it sits without a second thought beside Flecked Blue and Blue White, whose blue it takes up in negative.
