Napkins White Red: personalised embroidery, made in France
Washed linen owes its soft hand and its light crumple to a wash at the end of weaving: it will never stiffen again, however many times it goes through the machine. The white is barely broken, at home on inherited china and on a bare contemporary table alike, and the satin-stitch overlock is the dense seam of restaurant linen.
The red thread stands out plainly against the pale linen: that contrast is what tells this napkin apart from our other white ones. You type the text, choose the lettering, and the preview shows the result before the order leaves. An everyday table then does without paper, and a long celebration table sorts out its own seating. The same linen dresses our tablecloths, if you want to match the whole table.
